This is the very first Three String Fretless Cigar Box Guitar that I built.
It has a nice deep Charatan box and a lovely Cherry neck that I purchased from the very helpful Jay at TinyGuitars in the U.S.A.
It’s a 25 1/2″ scale with closed machine head tuners, threaded bar for the nut and a piece of aluminium tubing for the floating bridge.
The frets were marked with a Junior Hacksaw
I fitted a passive piezo pickup so it can be plugged into an amp and has a very warm, loud deep tone when played acoustically. I didn’t feel there was a need for any sound holes as I thought there was sufficient volume without them.
Six light coats of Danish oil and a coat of Beeswax (from local Yorkshire bees!) were applied to the neck and box and to say I’m proud of this CBG is an understatement!
